Workspace Overview

DSP Configurator has several workspaces, depending on the device, that provide a visual of all input and output signal paths inside the main application window. Within these workspaces you can configure various settings related to audio and video such as audio gain, trim, volume controls, and video format.

See the subsections below for a description of the workspaces that are available for the MLS 608 D Series.

Audio & Video I/O Workspace

DSP Configurator defaults to the Audio & Video I/O workspace when the application launches. To open this workspace from another workspace, you can select Audio & Video from the View menu or press <F2> on your keyboard. Alternatively, you can click Audio & Video I/O in the Legend section of the workspace you are viewing.

The Audio and Video workspace contains the video matrix and the audio matrix with the DSP signal chain. You can also access all audio gain, trim, volume controls, and audio DSP signal processors.

See the Switcher Operation section for more information about this workspace. Also, in DSP Configurator, click the icon or press <F1> from any audio dialog box, to open context-sensitive help and view information about the audio controls and processor.

NOTE:  The Audio & Video I/O workspace for the MLS 608 D MA reflects a mono output as output 4 and the MLS 608 D SA reflects a stereo amp output as output 4. The MLS 608 D has three output channels.

Audio I/O Workspace

To open this workspace, you can select Audio I/O from the View menu or press <F3> on your keyboard. Alternatively, you can click Audio I/O in the Legend section of the workspace you are viewing.

The Audio I/O workspace contains the audio matrix and you have access to audio gain, trim, and volume controls. You can also access all audio DSP signal processors.

Video I/O Workspace

To open this workspace, you can select Video I/O from the View menu or press <F4> on your keyboard. Alternatively, you can click Video I/O in the Legend section of the workspace you are viewing.

In the Video I/O workspace, you can access the video matrix and video settings. You can also access the RGB delay, and video mutes.

Console View Workspace

To open this workspace, you can select Console View from the View menu. Alternatively, press <F5> on your keyboard to open the Console View workspace. This workspace provides an overview of all input and output activity. From this view, you can access a meter bridge and level controls for all gain points.
