The Extron NF 4C LP  is a PoE powered, Dante-enabled 4” ceiling speaker that includes an integrated four channel audio amplifier and DSP. The NF 4C LP receives signal and power over a single network cable. It automatically recognizes connected PoE, PoE+, or PoE++ to deliver the corresponding amount of output power. This amplifier can drive up to three optional passive speakers. The NF 4C LP  includes integrated audio DSP that offers the ability to independently configure processing per zone. Dante Domain Manager and AES67 support ensures wide compatibility with enterprise configurations and other network audio devices. Available in packages of one through four speakers, the NF 4C LP meets the requirements of complex, decentralized systems with a self-contained PoE powered ceiling speaker solution.

The 4” (102 mm) full-range driver features a wide and smooth frequency range of 110 Hz to 20 kHz and is engineered with a practical 135° conical dispersion. In voice lift applications, the NF 4C LP provides excellent voice clarity.

Dante Audio Networking

Dante provides scalable audio transport, with Dante Domain Manager support, over a local area network using standard Internet protocols. The family of Dante-enabled products from Extron work together as part of a complete networked audio system solution and integrate with other Dante-enabled products to create efficient system designs. With AES67 support, a variety of network audio devices and audio routing needs can be accommodated.

Setting up a network of Extron Dante-enabled products requires Dante Controller software. Dante Controller is used to easily assign an output from a Dante-enabled device, such as an Extron DMP Plus Series processor, to an input on Dante-enabled amplifier.

Integrated DSP

A built in 4x4 mix matrix allows any Dante input to be routed to any amplifier output within a four-speaker system. The integrated DSP provides essential processing on each output, including gain adjustment, filters, dynamics, and delay.

Scalable Power

The NF 4C LP utilizes available PoE to scale the output of its internal amplifier. Depending on the number of passive speakers connected, a system can increase its maximum SPL by up to 8dB by increasing the system's PoE power. The chart below shows the possible combinations.

PoE Powered NF 4C LP 1 1 1 1
Quantity of Additional Passive Speakers 0 1 2 3

Control and Monitoring

Control amplifier parameters and monitoring the amplifier's status remotely via the Dante network via an IPCP Pro xi Series control processor.

Magnetically Attached Modern Looking Grille

The NF 4C LP features a finely perforated round metal grille with a thin-edged rounded bezel for a refined appearance on the ceiling. The grille securely attaches magnetically to the baffle and quickly snaps into place. An optional square grille is available with the same finely perforated metal and thin-edged rounded bezel. This gives the owner, architect, or interior designer an additional choice for matching the décor. The grille assemblies are white and can be painted to match the architectural elements of the environment.

Opti-Torque Indicator Ring

The NF 4C LP features exclusive Opti-Torque™ indicator rings that provide a visual indication when the locking arm screws have been sufficiently tightened, preventing damage to the speaker caused by overtightening. As the installation technician tightens the locking arms, the red Opti-Torque™ indicator ring will audibly snap when the proper torque has been applied. As a visual indicator, the red ring drops down onto the screw-driver shaft, signaling to the technician that the proper force has been applied.

Modular V-Rail and Foldable C-Rings

To facilitate installation in a T-bar ceiling, modular V-rail and foldable C-rings are included with the NF 4C LP. The V-rails have been designed as a two-part assembly that are quickly snapped together in the field. The foldable C-rings have been designed to make them easier to maneuver into place, even in blind-mount drywall applications. The installer snakes the C-ring up through the speaker cut-out, un-folds it, and positions it as needed. The result is a continuous metal support around the entire cut-out, resulting in a more secure attachment to the ceiling.

Rock-Solid Reliability

Product reliability is a high priority at Extron and we go to great lengths to engineer products with industry-leading low failure rates, driven by rigorous testing of everything we ship. From the elimination of short-lived electrolytic capacitors in the signal path, to PCB designs that exclude the use of failure-prone wire harnesses, to accelerated burn-in testing, the NF 4C LP is engineered by Extron for many years of service.
