Extron Control Specialist Program
The Extron Control Specialist Certification program is designed to prepare individuals to successfully maintain and deploy customized AV control systems across the entire organization. It is built on our popular Extron AV Associate and Extron Control Associate Certifications, which include intensive training on AV technologies, products, software, and applications. Students can expect a challenging series of educational modules focused on control system customization, advanced device communications, troubleshooting, and remote system management. Students who successfully complete this level of certification will be prepared to deploy and manage customized Extron control systems and software for enterprise applications.
This program is ideal for individuals who will be required to install, configure, operate, manage and troubleshoot AV control systems, including design engineers, system integrator installers, system integrator project managers, control system programmers, and industry professionals. A background of 2-5 years of AV control system design and installation experience is recommended.
- Successful achievement of the Extron Control Associate Certification.
- A strong working knowledge of Extron GUI Configurator and Global Configurator software is recommended.
- Demonstrate experience and competency in configuring and programming advanced control systems.
The Extron Control System Specialist School is available through a combination of online course material and instructor-led training. To achieve certification, students who complete the courses must also pass an Extron-proctored hands-on exam.

- Development of control interfaces from scratch using Extron GUI Configurator software
- Advanced configuration using Extron Global Configurator
- AV resource management using Extron GlobalViewer® Enterprise
- Networked systems design and troubleshooting
